Well checked my valve lash and all was well except the rear cyl was a tad loose. Mostly ex. So tightened it up and the ticking seems nearly gone the 2 times I drove it. Knock on wood. Hoping they might have just been a bit loose and kind of echoed. Finding another problem though. 6 of my new valve seals have rode up the valves. Machine shop didn't have tooling to machine for new style seal so I used the old style traditional press on. So I have some work ahead of me.

.. #6 being loose was probably the MAIN issue ..

The Valve seals shouldnt cause too much issues .. it will keep the oil from going down the valve stems .... I have seen some that .. I dunno .. "float" a bit ... I always thought it was normal for that style or something .... ? Could I be wrong ?

Haven't drove her yet today but hoping 6 being a little loose contributed to how loud it was. Makes sense though I guess. Ya all they really do is stop oil from leaking down. Not going to hurt anything but pretty mad. Now gotta pull the rocker pedistals off 5 of the cyl and re do at least one seal. Not sure if I should buy new or try to push these back down. Shoulda just got the head machined at a diff place who had the tooling but waited so long I was getting impatient. Gotta love pointless work. I guess the fact the other 6 stayed down is good :s

Well not much has changed. Noise is still there but really not worried at this point. Comes and goes. Been ripping the truck pretty good trying to set up the afc and all that and hasn't gotten worse. So for now I'm just gonna ignore it. Everything else is the same. Oil burns at it's regular rate, prob a lil higher since 6 valve seals are riding up till I fix em but nothing weird. Starts and drives fine. Thinking maybe it was a noise I just never noticed before. Or perhaps the significantly higher pop pressure of the injectors is creating it. At this point I'm done worrying until something happens. I have a 060 ofv coming for it soon and my intake horn then will fix the seals. And I think my ofv is shot because it needs a tap of the peddle to get her started when cold
