Need help with the "Fan Clutch" replacement part???
Hi all, i am getting problems with my Fan Clutch on my 97' Cummins. It stays on pretty much all the time now and it sounds like a helicopter taking off at every street corner and even at cruising speed on the highway!!! I know i spray alot of belt conditioner and i think that some went in the fan clutch mid core? Could it be frozen due to that sticky stuff? And if yes, how can you clean it? Anyway my question is that i order a new Fan clutch from NAPA, and they had only one model listed for my Cummins and it is a "Standard Rotation" one. But the thing is that my old one is a "Reverse Rotation" model so i am confused now??? I called at NAPA and they told me that they must be a reason why they have that only model listed. So can we just inverse the Blade Fan on the Fan clutch? Cause the Fan clutch is screwing in correctly but the arrow that indicates the Rotation is on the wrong side for me? So is that model listed would still work for my 12 valves Cummins? Thanks all.
