Default Rebuild for Built

Hello all! I recently purchased a 94 sclb pretty much stock except for plate mod on the pump. This is my fifth cummins but first 12 valve. Anyways after picking it up i took it home moved the starwheel and low boost screw and watched the timing in 40 minutes video (did it in 3 hours ) to what I am pretty sure is 16.5 and boom went the dynamite driving like i stole it. Now that i have that out of my system i am planning on a rebuild. I have not pulled it down yet, but if by chance it needs rings and pistons i will do a full rebuild. I have never rebuilt a cummins but i am pretty handy in then mechanical sense. So with that said i have compiled a parts lists that is open for adjustment. I am open to thoughts and suggestions good or bad i have a end goal of 500 to 550 hp clean as possible . I am not worried about that awesome chrysler automatic as i am ordering a suncoast coverter and valve body and rebuild kit with full billet parts Starting with fuel big line kit sump pickup and airdoggII 165gph,delivery valves i havent decided yet but with a 160 pump i am postive they will have to be changed, injectors ddp 90 hp injectors , turbos will consist of i am lost on them but s363 12 cm housing gated if they make such a critter and s475 on bottom and a hamiltion cam to top it off forgot the numbers on will find them later. arp studs and mods to the pump 4 gsk kit I will also fill out my sig the truck has 225k on the clock and leaks a lot but she is mine now.Sorry for the long winded speech feel free to beat me up thank you for your time and knowledge

Well .. i would get a 215 IP, stage 2 DDP inj, stock cam is good , set timing @ 22*, 12mm ARP's , a 62/65/14 S300 .... should get you in the 400 range easily ...

You would be time and money ahead to just grab a 215 pump ...

keep the 160 pump ... and what went boom on your truck? are you sure it really needs a rebuild?

If it ran fine before the timing and all of a sudden after messing with the timing it runs bad and smokes white it prob just slipped time pretty easy fix

I got the head pulled and the head gastket was shot luckily i shut it down in time to avoid damage . All the cylinders are in excellent shape no wear and still has cross hatches all the way down . Gonna put an order in for arps and thought about o ringing it if i can find local shop that will preform the job for me . i have my heart set on cpp 7 hole injectors 7x.10 or 7x.11 just not sure on which way to go yet on those i do think i will gp past 17 or 18 degrees timing .Air wise i am pickin up an used s475 not sure on the specs other than it has an t6 housing and 1.10 ar seems pretty large from what i understand .Stocker on top either port the wastegate as big as i can and run a 60mm comp wheel from gds or external gate it. To many options as of right now .

turbo wise ... 35/40 will work for a bit ... and yeah 1.10AR is a bit big ... but it will look good ...

spool wise .. ur gonna have to pull real hard to make it light .... dont know anyone over about .90 AR ... best of luck ... I will be looking for updates ..

Hoping to get pics up soon of the cylinders and such. Also being I purchased the truck used how would i tell if i had 60lbs springs as well I doubt it does but it had a fuel plate mod on prior to me purchasing hate to spend the cash if not needed . If i am not using proper forum usage or sounding dumb feel free to shut me down or point stuff out. that s475 is pretty cheap so i gotta get it

If you were to keep the 160 pump .... your most likley going to want to upgrade the DV's ...

While the 215 has 191's ... the 160 runs smaller ....

the 215 does retard the timing @ full throttle by 4* at WOT ....

Dunno if i would go 160 pump or not ... guess you could build it to suite your needs ... might get spendy if your trying to shoot for bigger numbers in the future .....
