Default Is it possible to convert a nv5600 2wd to 4wd

I have a 12v auto and a friend of mine is parting out a 2wd dually that has a nv5600 (6 speed) in it. I am curious if the manual can be converted over to 4wd and what all it will take. Also, can I use my transfer case? Will I just need to change the transfers input shaft. Thanks for your help, Greg

I think it can but you have to change out the main shaft and the tail housing. Half way rebuild the Tranny. not cost effective but possible.

I guess it would depend on the price of the tranny. I still would like to know what all I would have to do.
Trucks in good shape with 328,000 miles on it or I would just buy a truck with the manual tranny.
