Default fuel shutoff solenoid problem/slight miss???

i noticed something today, one of the bolts holding the shutoff solenoid in was missing so i put a new one in it and then it wouldnt start at all. I then loosened the screw and it would start but stay running when i turned it off for like 5 seconds. If i take the screw all the way out again it starts like it did before and shuts off normally. Everytime i go to start the truck i have to give it a little throttle or it wont start that was even before i found the shutoff solenoid issue. What does everyone think? This truck also has a slight miss or something you can feel it stumble a little but when your driving the exhaust sound is different it sounds like its popping or putting if anyone has any ideas for these issues and can share that would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that screw isnt long enough where it is threading through too far and hanging up on the side of the pump while it is traveling up and down. That lever should be going all the way up and getting full travel. If it popped and what not before you messed around with the lever i would check your timing.
