there is oil leaking from the front axle drive shaft that connects to the wheel? is it a seal? its on my 1996 auto in my sig... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Default oil leaking out of my front axle???

there is oil leaking from the front axle drive shaft that connects to the wheel? is it a seal?

its on my 1996 auto in my sig

94Cumminz's Sig:94 reg. cab cummins 5 spd 4X4, 4in turbo back, plate almost gone, afc moved, kdp killed, hx 35 and bhaf

93 ext. cab 5 speed 2wd pump turned up everything else is stock

More than likely it will be the front pinion seal.

Your post is confusing because you say drive shaft, axle and by the wheel. If it is where the front driveshaft (coming from transfer case going to front differential) then it is the front pinion seal and the above video will help you out. I believe you are talking about a seal leaking where the axle knuckles are by the front hub/wheel assembly. If so, yes there are seals aroung the axles and they will leak. Hopefully it is a pinion seal though because axle seals are a PITA, good luck.

sorry for the confusion. its leaking by the axle knuckles. it drips on my front driver side wheel.

well i figured it out. the diff was over filled and the extra came out on the drivers side. it doesn't leak anymore.

my axle seal was leaking too kept puttin the oil to her n she stopped leaking after a week or so

P-Pump's Sig:1996 5.9 cummins engine swap done. 160 hp engine, all new rear, front main seals. cam/push rod cover plate gasket, rocker cover gaskets, kdp fixed, front cover re sealed. No oil leaks! 6 plate timing, boost elbow, 4 inch down pipe 5 inch stack, autometer gauges boost, pyro. BHAF dual disk clutch 1-3/8 input shaft. Ams oil tranny/ transfer case oil. Oiled frame for harsh winter conditions.
