You could very well do a Cheetah a A5K or a Garret Turbo. The problem in the eak link with the DMAX is the rods. once you aupgrade the turbo esp. a bigger single your dealing with more pressures. So Rods and Headstuds are a must. But some guys have gotten away with Cryo Treating the rods (much cheaper) and a MPI Twin Stocker Kit. With some Very and I mean Very conserative tuning. But people have still bent the ods and some have shot them through the block. Also you going to need to upgrade your tranny with a Torque Convervetor and atleast a Billet Input shaft. Most of the time you can get away without the intermediate and output shafts. but they should be on the list also.

Yes a MPI Stocker Twin kit would be a good idea. But he needs to search for someone with good tuning skills cause he's on a stock bottom end.

So far I do have a built SCIV with 1056 and shim kit, PPE tuning and boost controller, Airdog150, MBRP 5" TB and Intake and ramair induction hood that really does make a difference other than looks. and I did tear up my re-end and had to put a detroit in it... man huge difference than stock.
SO FAR......and then, and then....

OK cool I didn't know what all you had. Man it's up to you. I would say the Cheetah is probaly your cheapest and best bet. But I would highly recomend EFI Live and look forward to rods in the future. PPE has alot of Pressure so I would go with rods cause PPE is like a Race Tune.

Or a MPI Twin Stocker kit.

Most of the ones that I have seen where there Race Tunes and what not. Nothing like a nice conservative tow tune and what not.

ppe tunes call fo rway to much fuel across the entire fuel map. all this will do is drain the fuel reail faster which will make you run slower and blow more smoke. cheetah's are great but they do not like ppe tunning. there is way to much vane position on the ppe tunning. they dont need all the vane position of the stock turbo because they are so efficiant. i would recomend efi

You run a LBZ correct. I've had MPI twins for three years. I currently have the so called. "stocker set" on my 07 LBZ classic. Besides the twins, I run TTS lift pumps and fuel pickup, a 4" exhaust, and other than some frontend stuff for drag racing and a cool down timer that it. I tow a 36' race trailer with it, drag race with it a bit and drive daily with the same tune I race with. It's puts out around 575 hp to the ground. I run EFI tunes by Idaho Rob or ATP out of Boise Idaho. He is one of the best dmax tuners and the best tuner of Twin Turbo Dmaxes hands down. Not only do the egt's stay well within the safe zone, the truck has great street manners, spools very quick and I get great fuel economy when I use cruise control and drive 65 mph.

Subman, i think i've talked to you on THE other site. Are you willing to depart with the twins yet?LOL Too much $$$$ right now with the ECON! maybe later in the year. Sure would be nice. With more boost i know i will need new rods and head studs, how much does it cost to have someone to install?

Sure understand the economy situation. Still gonna try and sell it in one piece, really nice truck. I'll have it in Phoenix at the Desert Diesel Drags on the 7th of March. I'll make a few low 12 maybe high 11 passes with it and maybe get one of the locals interested. Don't want to crank up the power too much, it's got to tow the race trailer down and back.
